David Bates, DDS, Owner
Dr. David Bates is a second-generation dentist who was born and raised in the Minneapolis area. He attended dental school at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. While in dental school, Dr. Bates was able to pursue his two passions in the dental field, community service and esthetic dentistry. He served as the co-director of the USC Mobile Dental Clinic program serving children in underserved areas of California. Upon graduation, he moved back to the Twin Cities to join his father’s dental practice in the Twin Cities’ suburbs.
After almost a decade spent working with his father, Dr. Bates decided to follow his vision of opening a distinctive dental practice right in the heart of the North Loop. As a proud resident of Minneapolis, Dr. Bates was drawn to the North Loop’s vibrant community atmosphere. As the owner of Loop Dental, Dr. Bates looks forward to meeting and serving the area for many years to come.
Dr. Bates is an active member of the Twin Cities’ dental community and was named the 2017 recipient of the Minnesota Dental Association’s New Dentist Leadership Award. In 2020 he was asked to serve on the Minnesota Dental Association’s COVID-19 Task Force, which helped to implement safe practice guidelines, allowing dental offices to re-open safely during the pandemic. Dr. Bates is a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association and the Saint Paul District Dental Society. He is also a past president of the Saint Paul District Dental Society Speakers’ Bureau, which he has been a member of since 2009. Dr. Bates was a member of the first graduating class of the Great Lakes Implant Institute in 2015 and believes in staying ahead of the curve on the latest dental techniques and technology.
Away from the office, Dr. Bates enjoys spending time with his wife, their three young children, and dog. He is an avid traveler, skier, runner, and swimmer. Dr. Bates loves living in Minnesota, and especially looks forward to the warm summer months!

Katie Hannon, DDS
Dr. Katie Hannon grew up in Willmar, Minnesota. She attended the University of Minnesota for both undergraduate and dental school, where she graduated with distinction. Dr. Hannon enjoys a wide range of dental procedures and loves establishing a personal connection with each of her patients. She is a member of the Minnesota Dental Association, St. Paul District Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.
Outside of the office, Dr. Hannon enjoys yoga, the lakes and exploring the Twin Cities’ restaurant scene.
